Naked Panic - Live @ The Handlebar - Pensacola, FL (BEFORE Close/Reopen)
*Updated 03/10/2023
This is Naked Panic playing a noise, punk show at The Handlebar in Pensacola, FL. It's one of 3 shows Naked Panic played with friends from the Pensacola indie rock band, The Bloom. The headliner on this particular show was Marbin from Chicago, IL. This is by far the best sounding live recording Naked Panic ever had, and we were very fortunate to have the right people in the right place at the right time. It blows my mind that this recording even exists. All backing vocal stems are missing from the live recording.
A few things about this era. The Handlebar closed down a few months after Naked Panic played this show. This was the last live recording as Man Made Machines before performing these same songs as Naked Panic with Brenan Woody as a new guitar player. Prior to Brenan joining the band, Naked Panic was a 3-piece.
The name change came about because of a bigger band with the same name.
The demo of Naked Panic's self-produced 4-song EP was recorded by Brenan Woody shortly after joining the band. Naked Panic's final show was at the Fundraiser for Australia at Chizuko in Pensacola, FL on 1/25/2020 with The Bloom, Dorian Mood, and Bangarang Peter. The 2020 shutdowns crippled the Pensacola music scene for 2 years and Naked Panic broke up before finishing the EP. Those recordings still exist today.
Tracking Notes
Alexandra Gore ran sound, that's why we tracked so well. :) Daylen had his own live audio console and worked with Alexandra to handle the live mix. Dave Sands tracked the live audio from the board and handled mixing in post. Basically a total Dream Team.
